Questions about technology needed to take courses through Campbell University Online
Campbell University Online courses are hosted through our Blackboard Learning Management System which has a robust set of tools to allow frequent interaction with your professor just like a traditional setting. Our courses are asynchronous, meaning that you can participate in the class when you schedule your course work time. As long as you are meeting the deadlines set forth by your professor, you can schedule assignments to fit your needs. Each of our students completes the Campbell University Online Seminar for Undergraduates that helps students become oriented with our tools, culture, and online community.
How often do I need to get online?
It is recommended that you check announcements in your course daily and your Campbell issued email daily. The Blackboard Mobile Learn app for mobile devices also offers notifications for announcements and grade postings which can help you stay on top of your course load. There are no required times to log in; therefor, students are able to schedule the time that is best for them to complete coursework. On average students should expect to spend between 10 and 15 hours per week per class including reading and online assignments.
Will I get the same information as a traditional course in my online course?
Absolutely! At Campbell University Online, our online courses are modeled after our traditional courses. The faculty members teaching online courses work to develop the courses with our traditional faculty. Rest assured the content in the online courses will be just as challenging and exciting as a traditional course. Our faculty members also receive regular professional development to ensure that we have the best faculty in the field.
How long does it take to earn my degree?
The time it takes to complete your degree is dependent upon how many credit hours you transfer in and the program that you choose. The more credits you transfer in the faster your completion time. At Campbell University Online we accept transfer credits from accredited community colleges, colleges, universities, and the military. Students can also earn credit through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), the Subject Examinations of the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Subjects (DANTES), the examinations of the United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI), the Advanced Placement examination of the College Entrance Examinations Board, International Baccalaureate, or any other standardized test approved and accepted by the American Council on Education and documented in the ACE Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services (ACE Guide).
When is the deadline to apply?
Campbell University Online runs on 8-week accelerated terms and has rolling admissions each term. You can start the program whenever your schedule allows. We recommend that you submit all enrollment materials at least 2 weeks prior to your start date so we can process your application.
