ROTC History

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Army ROTC Department has been in existence since 1994 when UNCP signed a cross enrolled agreement with Campbell University. Since then, there have been 41 officers from UNCP (through 2004).

UNCP Cadets are fully integrated with the Campbell Battalion for administration, leadership positions, field training exercises and accessions. UNCP Cadets serve on the battalion staff. Cadets at UNCP are in the Brave Company and take their classes, physical training and leadership lads at UNCP. There is one cadre serving at UNCP MSG Torre and his office is located on the second floor of Jacobs Hall.

In 2004, UNCP commissioned eight officers, as it has been the most since the program has started. The AROTC Program has grown considerably over the years with 36 Cadets enrolled in the program here at UNCP. Officers at UNCP have been assigned to all branches of the Army and continue to serve in the Army with distinction.
