Fitness Class Descriptions

Barre is a total body workout that uses the ballet barre to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat, sculpt muscles and create long, lean physiques. Along with the ballet barre, you will also use other light equipment as you move through the class, focusing on different areas of your body.

This bike-to-barre class will get your heart pumping! Get ready for a beat-based cardio ride and then slide off the seat and head to the barre for strengthening and lengthening; defining muscle with every class!

BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more. BODYPUMP is available as either a 55, 45 or 30-minute workout.

core and stretch

This 30-45 minute Core & Stretch class will focus on mobility and stability as important components to health and fitness! Core and stability exercises to improve fitness and also prevent injury will be worked on. In addition, different mobility and stretches will be explored in this class and you will leave with a full-body stretch as well as a core workout! This is what is missing in your weekly workout routine, so round out your week with something good for your body and your fitness!

This hour long spin class incorporates a variety of drills including sprints, hills, mixed terrain, recovery, and weights. This class is great for building strength and endurance!

Hip hop logo

Hip hop fitness is a high energy class using dance choreography to provide a full and entertaining cardiovascular workout. This fitness class makes cardio fun and gives a club like atmosphere without leaving the fitness room. The primary goal is to burn calories including hip hop movements that tone your arms, legs, and core. It gives a satisfying experience that builds confidence in your dance moves.

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, and this Bootcamp style class is designed to be an INTENSE workout. In this class, EVERY DAY is a NEW ADVENTURE! Our workouts range from intervals, to circuits, to AMRAPS (as many rounds as possible), and so much more! Each class will vary in equipment and exercises to bring you a combination of cardio, strength, and endurance training. Every exercise can be modified or enhance to challenge you at your personal fitness level. Come on out and see for yourself!

Ignite Bootcamp

Ignite Bootcamp will always be a different workout every time you come to class.  Taking ideas from HIIT, CrossFit, and body building to really get your brain and body switched on and ready for the day.  Sometimes we’ll run, others we’ll focus on strength and even at times both will be included in the same workout (yes, we’ll deadlift and run, it’s my favorite workout)!  The primary goal of this class is to improve overall health and fitness by engaging different energy systems and get participant’s heart rate up to near max which has proven to be incredibly beneficial for brain function.

Cardio kickboxing is a high energy cardio workout designed to get your heart rate up while learning how to kick, jab, uppercut, and hook your way to awesome fitness! This class varies on any given day, we do kickboxing combinations, circuits, strength training, intervals, and partner work- everything you need to become a great kickboxer! A great form of conditioning, kickboxing can help build confidence and also provide a fun way to blow off steam!

Martial Arts is a medium tempo class that focuses on basic martial art techniques. You will learn the fundamentals of how to perform practical arm and leg strikes. We will also focus on real world self-defense techniques you hopefully will never have to use. You will leave this class with a great workout! Your core strength, balance, and conditioning will continually be tested with constantly varying movements and combinations.


Pilates uses low-impact exercises to reach goals of strengthening muscles, improving posture, and flexibility. Mat Pilates is based solely on the mat. The movements we will do target the core while also working other major and minor muscles in the body. Mat Pilates is a mind-body class, a practice which combines mental focus, controlled breathing, and body movements to relax the body and mind. The challenges faced in this class will make you stronger and more in touch with your body’s functionality than ever before!

This is a new 30 minute class that is focused mainly on meditating, specifically using guided meditation to help you focus your mind and breath. Different meditative topics will be explored in each session, and it will include gentle and light stretching in order to relax the body, but it is not a full workout class. Comfortable clothing is recommended but in this instance, workout attire is not a necessity! Open to anyone and everyone who needs to take a few minutes to breathe and quiet their mind, and feel rejuvenated and relaxed.

PiYo is the best of both worlds when it comes to a group exercise format. It is inspired by pilates and yoga and is an athletic, fitness based, musically driven class. It incorporates dynamic and fluid movement sequences that increase flexibility, range of motion, and overall tones the body. It is high intensity and low impact, yet it is rigorous and also restorative. Any fitness level can accomplish PiYo and after an hour of calorie and fat burning; your body will be begging for more! Bring yourself and a yoga mat and get ready to experience a one of a kind class!

Power Pilates is a high-energy workout class that incorporates motivating music, powered Pilates, yoga, and constant fun. We do the workout as a team and not to worry, whether you need a power hour or a modified hour, this is the class for you. We power it out for an hour and wind down at the end with yoga. The class contains a variety of movements including lean body-weight training, a bit of cardio, yoga, and mind-awareness training. All together this class focuses on toning the entire body and having a good time while doing it. Power Pilates uses a variety of music choices and muscle movements that will keep you coming back for more.

When you add “power” to yoga, it redefines what you might think a yoga class is going to be. In this Power Yoga class, you’re going to be moving from pose to pose every time you breathe. The class will be faster paced, which means it’ll be a balance of cardio, stretching, and working every muscle that’s engaged in our poses. AND we’re doing all of that to an epic playlist of songs. It’s a fun twist on traditional yoga that is going to make you more flexible, stronger, and very relaxed.

Welcome to our first group class in the weight room! This Strength Training class aims to increase strength and improve body composition by focusing on targeting all major muscle groups using free weights, resistance bands, and cables as well as other equipment. Sessions will split targeted muscle groups over 3 separate days during the week and will introduce exercise variations while also encouraging proper lifting technique.  Additional benefits of strength training also include improvements in resting metabolism, bone mineral density, insulin response and resting blood pressure. You’ll leave this class feeling challenged and motivated to be better than you were before so join us as we take group fitness into the weight room as we build confidence and even more strength!

Are you ready to get STRONG? This STRONG by Zumba® class is a HIIT workout that uses interval training and “Synced Music Motivation.” The moves are driven by intensity of the music to help you push past your perceived fitness limits to grow and strengthen your overall fitness level. It is unlike any other format of HIIT in the group fitness world and will work out your ENTIRE body! Fun Fact: you can burn calories up to 48 hours AFTER taking this class! In this Swim Fitness class, expect to be in the pool while we work our entire body with an occasional exercise outside the water. This class will be low impact and designed for all levels of swim and fitness ability. You should be comfortable being in the pool, but you do not need to be able to swim laps. I recommend wearing a comfortable swimsuit (or athletic outfit for the pool) and bringing a water bottle and a towel. Goggles and swim shoes are optional and putting your whole head underwater is not required. A fun fact about AquaFitness is you get all the benefits of exercising without all the sweating! AquaFitness is at the pool behind the convocation center- sign in at the desk and go through the locker rooms to get to the pool deck.

All of our Yoga classes are designed to focus on stretching and breathing to ultimately relax and unwind our bodies and minds. Poses and flows are used to strengthen, stretch, and open the body and calm the mind. Yoga encompasses a broad range of practices, and each of our instructors adds their own twist and focus to their Yoga classes but all are open to everyone from any fitness level or experience level.
