The 1st Generation Camels Mentoring Program is designed to provide first generation college students with meaningful relationships with faculty, staff and alumni who were also first generation college students.

Mentoring Model

This community of mentors is dedicated to sharing their own experiences as first generation students and providing caring guidance to our new first generation students that will support their persistence through graduation. Mentors commit to mentoring at least one student for one academic year for at least 2 hours per term. The First-Year Experience Office will serve as your main level of support.

What is a First Generation College Student?

First Generation students are defined by Campbell University as students whose parents have never earned a bachelor’s degree.
