BAT Team

BAT works to identify, de-escalate, and decrease threatening behavior from impacting students, faculty, staff, and the greater university community in negative ways. BAT utilizes a multi-disciplinary, proactive, and coordinated approach to the identification, assessment, intervention, and management of situations that may pose a threat to the safety and well-being of the university community.

The Behavioral Assessment Team’s process is to

  • Assess and use reasonable discretion as to whether students, employees, or non-affiliates have engaged in threatening or concerning behavior or exhibited potentially threatening behavior that may pose a safety concern for the community.
  • Recommend appropriate interventions to mitigate any risk of harm to the university community or the individual including but not limited to referrals with campus and community resources for support and care and recommendations to the administration based on the severity of the situation
  • Monitor and review ongoing interventions as necessary
BAT is not a disciplinary group and will refer to appropriate disciplinary committees as applicable.

Anyone can report behavior they believe to be concerning or threatening. BAT reviews behaviors of all community members at Campbell University.
