Fine Arts Exhibition (Conductor, Soloist, Art Exhibition, Theatre)

  • Maggie Horvath displayed pit and raku fired ceramic planters as part of Sankofa “Looking Back At 2020.” This show asked artists to respond to the current issues of our time through their work. The show was juried. 
  • Maggie Horvath was accepted as an artist for Big Ink at Artspace in Raleigh in April 2021. Big Ink is a group that promotes public artwork awareness through large scale woodblock printmaking. The group works nationwide and sends out national calls for artists to participate in making a monumental wood block and printing. The program is a masterclass on wood block carving and printing and a public art event in which the accepted artists along with Big Ink print the woodblocks.

  • In the fall of 2019, I submitted an abstract to the International Conference on Technology in Collegiate Mathematics (ICTCM).  My abstract entitled “How Learning Catalytics Changed My Mind About Allowing Smart Devices in the Classroom” was accepted, and I was scheduled to present my research in Orlando, Florida on March 12 – 15, 2020.  Unfortunately, the Coronavirus Pandemic made officials cancel the conference in Orlando.  Thankfully, the conference became “virtual.”  I sent in my research and my video last June of 2020.  My “virtual” presentation was available for viewing for several months along with the other presenters during the ICTCM – Summer of 2020.
