1. Accessibility
- Videos must include captions, which auto-generate but should be corrected manually. They also must include a descriptive title and subtitle.
- You may want to use a consistent title format to organize your channel, i.e. “Five Minutes in History | The Suez Canal” to denote a series and then a specific video. This can help your audience navigate your channel. The playlist feature can help you sort content into relevant series.
2. Formatting your channel
Youtube allows you to customize your page to your liking, but please use a Campbell-branded signature mark image for your icon and a high-quality photo for your banner.
- Signature Marks: Download signature marks →
- Banner Photography: Because channel art looks different on desktop, mobile, and TV displays, a 2560 x 1440 px image is recommended for the best results on all devices. The file size should be 6MB or smaller. View guidelines for banner photography →
3. Videography and editing
When shooting videos, please shoot horizontally so as not to have black screen margins around a vertical video. If the video is also intended for vertical formats like Tik Tok or Instagram Stories, please shoot two versions to avoid underutilizing the landscape orientation. When text is included in videos, please follow our brand guidelines for font usage and keep the on-screen text clear and legible.
Please consistently start (or finish) your video with the Campbell University bumper video provided. You can also submit a design request, and a member of the communications team will create a bumper with your department’s signature logo.
