Mission Trips

Because of COVID-19 travel restrictions we are not traveling during the 2020-2021 academic year. We hope to be able to travel soon.

Each year we seek to offer opportunities for students to experience the work God is doing around the world and other cultures. Each opportunity is different, providing students with a space to explore using their gifts. Our hope is for students to come back from each mission trip with a desire to integrate their experiences into their daily lives.

We love serving in DC for many reasons, each time we travel to DC we are able to experience the work God is doing there while learning about serving in an urban setting. We have the opportunity to serve alongside local agencies who are providing shelter, support and love for those experiencing homelessness and hunger.

“Our time in DC with Steinbruck Center taught us so much about compassion, the value of relationships, and pursuing justice.” -Morgan Pajak

Estimated Cost: $500

In Atlanta we work with House of Cherith. HOC is an organization that offers housing and supportive services for female survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation.

“While serving at House of Cherith I learned that God uses our faith to create community and build unity with others. No matter who we are, where we come from, nor what we have experienced, there is no separation between people when there is a foundation in God.” -Hannah Byrd

Estimated Cost: $2500

For over a decade we have partnered with Living Hope. They serve communities around South Africa, bringing hope and breaking the despair of poverty and disease. Whether it be a general mission team, a marketing team, or a healthcare team, we love taking students to Cape Town.

“I saw God everywhere in our time in Cape Town, but I especially saw God in the children that we worked with that week. Every time we bowed our heads to pray, all of the children would put their hands together, close their eyes as tight as they could, and pray their hearts out. I thought it was the most amazing thing, to see so many children talking to God with so much passion.” -Ashlyn Hampton

Estimated Cost: $1800

For the last several years we have traveled to Cuba to join in the work God is doing alongside Baptists on Mission. In Cuba we have the opportunity to serve through construction repairs and building relationships with the people.

“One thing I loved about my time in Cuba was the relationships we formed with the people we worked with and the family who hosted us. Even though there was a language barrier, it didn’t stop us from getting to know one another and building those relationships.” -Josie Smith
