  • Room and meal plan fees paid for by institutional scholarship (whether in full or in part) will not be refunded. Credit adjustments only apply to actual out-of-pocket amounts paid by the student for room and meal plan, room and meal plan amounts covered by student, loans or non- housing or meal plan scholarships or grants.

Room and Meal Plan credit adjustments will be applied as credits to a student’s account, as follows:

  • Returning students eligible for an adjustment will receive credit through their fall 2020 financial aid package. Credit adjustments will be applied to any existing student account balance and reduce the fall 2020 credit adjustment  accordingly.
  • Confirmed graduating students that are eligible for  an adjustment will receive a credit on their spring 2020 student account.  Credit adjustments will be processed after May 9, 2020, and will be applied to any outstanding balance.
  • Students not returning are required to request a credit by May 15, 2020 to receive any adjustment due; however, the credit will be applied to the account after the September 10, 2020 census date.

Receiving a credit adjustment scholarship will not affect your eligibility for federal or state grants as determined by your FAFSA.

  • Credit amounts will first be applied against any outstanding balances on the student account.
  • Any remaining credit amount after applying against outstanding balances will be the NET CREDIT AMOUNT.
  • Students can log into their student self-service portal, click on Financial Information and TouchNet to see the results of their applied credit adjustment and find their NET CREDIT AMOUNT.

The NET CREDIT AMOUNT will be applied or refunded as follows:

  • Graduating Seniors will be automatically refunded the NET CREDIT AMOUNT according to how the student account is set up to receive credit adjustments (check, direct deposit or parent loan refund check.) if they do not have a balance due for spring 2020.  Any spring 2020 balance will be paid first before a refund is issued.
  • Certain individuals receiving Federal Title IV financial aid will be automatically refunded the NET CREDIT AMOUNT according to how the student account is set up to receive credit adjustments (check, direct deposit or parent loan refund check) if there is not an outstanding balance due on their student account.
  • Students whose room and meal plan funding source was student or Parent Plus loans and/or non-housing or meal plan scholarships or grants will be refunded the corresponding portion of the NET CREDIT AMOUNT according to how the student account is set up to receive credit adjustments. Any remaining NET CREDIT AMOUNT will be handled in the same fashion as for all other returning students.
  • All other returning students: NET CREDIT AMOUNTS will be held in student accounts as credits applicable to future tuition, room and meal plan, or other expenses.
  • If the credit adjustment does not create a Title IV refund, then yes any credit above your student account balance can be used to pay your fines.
  • If the credit adjustment creates a Title IV refund, then no, your fines balance cannot be paid with the credit adjustment.

If you have a balance due on your student account for spring 2020, the credit adjustment will be applied to the amount due first. If the credit adjustment amount is larger than the amount due on your student account for spring 2020 and the form is not completed, the remaining credit will not be issued.
