The instructions are as follows: Step 1: Download and install Windows Cleanup. From the Student Helpdesk website, select the Other Useful Tools page. Search in this page for a program called Windows Cleanup. Download and install this program according to the directions given. Step 2: Download the AIM Fix utility.
Step 3: Restart your computer in Safe Mode. To restart your computer in Safe Mode, you will need to restart your computer, then as the power comes on, tap the F8 key at the top of the keyboard. After you see a screen that lists options including starting normally, starting with previous good configuration. Select the option marked “Safe Mode”. Step 4: Turn off System Restore Right click the My Computer icon and choose Properties. When the System Properties window opens, click the System Restore tab. Check the box marked Turn Off System Restore. Click OK. Step 5: Run AIM Fix utility
Step 6: Run Windows Cleanup
Step 7: Run Sophos and Windows Defender Step 8: Restart your computer in Normal Mode. For this, just restart your Computer. Step 9: Turn on System Restore. Right click the My Computer icon and choose Properties. When the System Properties window opens, click the System Restore tab. Uncheck the box marked Turn Off System Restore. Click OK.
