MEMORANDUM FOR CAMPBELL BATTALION CADRE AND CADETS

 

SUBJECT:  Policy Letter #9, Army Substance Abuse

 

1.  Alcohol and drug abuse is incompatible with military service.  This policy establishes the procedures that are designed to detect and deter such activities.  The battalion Army Substance Abuse Program will be conducted IAW AR 600-85.

 

2.  As part of the Battalion Safety Program, alcohol and drug abuse prevention training will be conducted as needed.  Safety briefings concerning this will be conducted before all extended weekends.  Special emphasis will always be placed on drug avoidance and safe alcohol use.

 

3.  Any Soldier or Cadet suspected of drug or alcohol abuse will be confronted immediately.  All drug and alcohol abusers will be command referred to the Army Substance Abuse Program for evaluation and placement into a rehabilitation program.
