MEMORANDUM FOR CAMPBELL BATTALION CADRE AND CADETS

SUBJECT:  Policy Letter #2, Open Door Policy

1.  Access to the unit commander is critical to well being, esprit and effectiveness.  Every member of every unit in the Army has the right to petition his/her commander for assistance and or redress of a grievance.  Such is certainly the case here.

2.  Intermediate leaders, both cadre and cadet, should be given the opportunity to provide such assistance and redress.  In most instances, the matter can be expeditiously and satisfactorily disposed of at the lower level.  However, should you choose to address the matter to me first, I stand ready to help.

3.  In a unit such as ours, with its unique organization, setting, and mission, very often unit members (especially Cadets) simply wish to discuss an aspect of the Army or their university with the PMS.  I want you all to feel free to contact me at any time during the duty day.  In an emergency situation, you may, of course, contact me at any time.
