MEMORANDUM FOR CAMPBELL BATTALION CADRE AND CADETS
SUBJECT: Policy Letter #5, Leave
1. ROTC duty is unique in many aspects. It is an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. It is also unique in that schedules are relatively predictable and manageable. We can all find reasons why we should not go on leave. I want us to find reasons why we should.
2. Each company in the battalion will enforce a leave plan that is fair and is built around each school’s calendar and Summer Camp requirements. Personnel are encouraged to take leave during periods of low OPTEMPO/PERSTEMPO, especially during Christmas and pre/post summer camp. This plan will ensure that no member of the battalion loses leave or is forced into a “use or lose” leave crisis.
3. Supervisors will stay abreast of each subordinate's leave situation. Ensure your projected leave dates are forwarded to the Battalion S-1 for reflection on the battalion leave roster.
4. POC for this policy is the undersigned at (910) 893-1582.
