MEMORANDUM FOR CAMPBELL BATTALION CADRE AND CADETS
SUBJECT: Policy Letter #4, Sexual Harassment
1. Sexual harassment is defined as deliberate, repeated, unwarranted and unsolicited comment, gesture or physical contact of a sexual nature. It is behavior that annoys, irritates, abuses, embarrasses, inhibits or penalizes a person because of his or her sex. This may include jokes that are gender based.
2. Sexual harassment creates an offensive environment for its victims and destroys trust and cohesion. Just so it is clear, let me state flatly that sexual harassment will not be tolerated. It is important that you understand how serious I am and how damaging sexual harassment is to the victim, the unit and the Army in general. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to maximize the potential of each Army member, both military and civilian. Our Army's well-being depends upon it.
3. Remember, our conduct reflects directly on every member of the Army. We must be professional at all times.
4. Report incidences of sexual harassment immediately to the cadre chain of command.
5. POC for this policy is the undersigned at (910) 893-1582.
