
Lieutenant Colonel Loffert graduated from Penn State University in
1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Science and was a
Distinguished Military Graduate with a commission as a Second
Lieutenant in the Infantry. Prior to joining ROTC at Penn State,
Lieutenant Colonel Loffert served as an enlisted Soldier with Bravo
Company, 1st Battalion of the 314th Infantry,
157th Separate Infantry Brigade; a U.S. Army Reserve unit
in Huntington, PA.
Lieutenant Colonel Loffert has served in the Infantry his entire
career, from a Private (E-1) as a basic rifleman to a Lieutenant
Colonel (LTC) now serving as Campbell University’s Professor of
Military Science. His assignments include service with airborne,
light, and mechanized Infantry units to include numerous deployments
to various countries.
Lieutenant Colonel Loffert’s awards and decorations include 3 awards
of the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, 5 awards of the
Army Commendation Medal, 7 awards of the Army Achievement Medal, the
Presidential Unit Citation, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the
Meritorious Unit Citation, the Army Superior Unit Award, various
other service awards, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (2nd
Award), the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Senior Parachutist
Badge, and the Ranger Tab.
Lieutenant Colonel Loffert is blessed with a wonderful and
supportive family. He and his wife Jennifer reside in Linden and
have three children. |
