SFC Thomas Foos enlisted in
the Army in June 1991 and attended Basic and Advanced Individual
Training at Ft Benning, Georgia, where he graduated as an
Indirect-Fire Infantryman.
SFC Foos has served in
every duty and leadership position from Ammo Bearer to First
Sergeant in the Infantry during his 15 years of service. His
assignments include service with airborne, light, mechanized
Infantry and Armor units to include numerous deployments to various
countries. He has served in the 1- 41 INF, 2AD, the 1-187 INF,
101ABN DIV, the HQs 2ID, the 2- 72 AR, 2ID, the 3- 69 AR, 3ID, the
2-27 INF and 2-5 INF, 25ID, the 2-325 AIR, 82ABN DIV, the OPS GRP,
NTC, and most recently with the 2-506 INF, 101 ABN DIV, deploying in
support of OIF 3 and OIF 4.
His military education
includes: Air Assault School, Airborne School, Jungle Operations
Course, EO Leader Course, Observer Controller Course, Joint
Firepower Controller Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Battle
Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course, Faculty Development Course,
Warrior Leader Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, and
the Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course. He is currently
pursuing a Bachelors Degree.
SFC Foos’ awards and
decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the
Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor w/
(6 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal w/ (4 OLC), the Army Good
Conduct Medal (5th award), the National Defense Service
Medal (2nd award), the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global
War on Terror Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the
NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army
Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (4th
award). SFC Foos has also been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge,
the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Airborne Badge, and the Air
Assault Badge.
