It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I’m so happy that the Holidays are approaching! Yesterday, I went with seven other girls on an all-day Christmas extravaganza. We got up really early and drove to downtown Raleigh for the Christmas parade; which was sooooo much fun! This was the largest parade I’ve ever seen and there was a huge crowd there. The weather was perfectly chilly, so we were able to wear coats and scarves and goofy winter hats. We ate candy canes and chocolate covered cherries as we watched. It couldn’t have been more fun. Then we spent all afternoon at SouthPoint mall, doing some Christmas shopping. I think I have more Christmas spirit than anyone ever! I’ve been playing Christmas music since Halloween, and there are already a few decorations up in my dorm room. So many of my friends, though, are against celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving; which I understand…. I mean, I love Thanksgiving as much as anyone. I just like to celebrate this season, (including both Thanksgiving and Christmas) as long as possible! So I have to try to tone down my Christmas cheer a little for now. But when I come back to school from Thanksgiving…… there’s gonna be the fake snow (you know, the kind in a can) all over my windows, little trees in my room, and nothing but Christmas music on my I Tunes playlist! And I’m so excited that I only have two days this week, then I’m headed home for Thanksgiving, and after that only one week of classes, then exams! But it’s also a little scary to think that there’s so little time left to finish final papers, and get ready for those exams! How can I motivate myself enough for all of that school-stuff, when there’s so much holiday cheer around here??????

Good Weekend!

Right now I’m in the process of getting ready for church, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to blog…

I usually go to Cleveland Community Church with a group of my girlfriends. It’s about a 25 minute drive from campus, which is kind of far, but I really love it there, and I actually look forward to Sunday mornings. Sundays are a nice relaxing day at Campbell. There are so many churches in the area, and it seems like a ton of the students here go to church somewhere. Then almost everyone eats lunch in Marshbanks. It’s kind of a family-ish feeling. I wish that the afternoons could be as relaxing, but it always seems like I have so much to do to get ready for the week. Like today, I have to spend all afternoon studying for a Microeconomics test that I have tomorrow, and another test I have on Friday in one of my government classes that’s going to be really tough. But hopefully I’ll somehow find some time to relax.

I play softball here at Campbell, and yesterday we had our first tournament. Games this time of year are a good way to see how the team is going to play together and where we stand as of now….. and we won all three games!! J It was also our “parent’s day” so a lot of the parents were there (even some from California and Canada) and we had a cookout for lunch. It was so great to see my mom and dad! I haven’t been able to go home at all this semester; fall break will be the first time, and I am counting down the days!!!
