Home Away from Home

You never realize how much you miss Buies Creek until you are away. My Christmas break was no less than amazing with my friends from home; however, I missed my “humble abode” and my friends here! Starting a new semester for my roommate and I meant starting with a new dorm set-up. Our room started pretty neat, then suitcase after suitcase (of clothes that we didn’t even unpack over break and were very unnecessary) began to fill our floor. It was THEN that we decided that we wanted to move every piece of furniture in the room (by ourselves). It was a good thing that our suitemates had not moved back in because…well…they would not have exactly been able to get to their room through all of our stuff in the hallway. After dreading the first day of classes for a week, I finally decided that I was ready for them. This will be a tough semester for me with two hard sciences, English, and a few other required classes for my major. I am very excited about starting my jazz class! I have never danced in my life, so it will be quite an experience, but at the same time, a nice break from the stressful world of chemistry and anatomy.

The Beginning of the End

Well my first semester is over, it flew by! I had a great time, learned ALOT, and made tons of new friends. I have so many great memories about this semester, from halloween dances to band concerts. I have been so blessed to have the PERFECT roommate. Kayla and I have the same study habits, the same warped sense of humor, and love to do Pilates at midnight. I kept up my studies all semester so I felt very prepared going into finals (especially after about 30 hours of studying that week.) Dr. Metz was my favorite professor, I learned so much in Bio 111 from him, I hope to be able to take a higher division class from him next year. I've come home for Christmas with my family, but I'm missing my bigger Campbell family and can't wait to get started on next semester! One semester down, 5 1/2 more years to go!.

"There's more to Buies Creek than...well...."

Campbell has been everything I expected! I've made tons of new friends, gotten to go new places, and had new experiences. Being a pre-pharm major definately means you have to put in the study time, but there is still time for other activities. This first semester has flown by. My roommate, Kayla, and I have become Camel Crazies and have had a great time at soccer games and we're excited about basketball season starting. We've spent a lot of time right here on campus going to the student center or just hanging out and watching movies. This week we will have our first concert in wind ensemble. I'm glad that I can be involved with the music program here while majoring in another area. Enough for now, will write more later.
