Phi Delta Chi History
Leaders in Pharmacy,
Brothers for Life.
At Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1883, the Phi Delta Chi Pharmaceutical Fraternity was founded by eleven young men along with the help of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and first honorary member, Albert Benjamin Prescott. Originally known as Phi Chi, the fraternity changed its name to Phi Delta Chi in 1910 and is the oldest professional fraternity serving the field of pharmacy. Over the years Phi Delta Chi members have positively contributed to their schools and the pharmacy profession. The Phi Delta Chi fraternity provided a chance for greater involvement in both professional and social activities. Phi Delta Chi promotes a spirit of Brotherhood and establishes ties that are not soon severed.
