Fubara receives Dean’s Excellence in Teaching award
Dr. Edward Fubara, assistant professor of business at Campbell University, was
selected to receive the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award from the Lundy-Fetterman
School of Business.
“Dr Fubara is a truly outstanding young faculty member
who has a heart for students and a passion for helping them learn,” said Dr. Ben
Hawkins, dean of the school of business. “His high expectations for students
help them to learn and excel in the classroom. Campbell University is pleased to
have him as part of the faculty.”
Fubara teaches both undergraduate and graduate level
business courses. He is adviser to nearly 50 students and to Campbell’s Phi Beta
Lambda business club, the Ministry of ACTS student ministry and the New Vision
Gospel Choir. He also sits on the Faculty Senate, the Multicultural Council and
the Study Abroad Committee.
Although teaching is Fubara’s major interest, he is
also active in the research areas of diversity and business ethics. His most
recent manuscript is called Attitude Adjustment: The Role of Organizational
Justice, Ethical Frameworks and Employer Support on Attitudes toward Affirmation
Action. His interests also include developing business ethics models for
improving the business climate in his native Nigeria.
In addition to his academic work, Fubara is a licensed
and ordained minister. He serves in the local church, teaches Bible study and
also speaks at conferences and workshops. He has been a speaker at Campbell’s
CUW chapel service. As part of his ministry work, Fubara developed a program
called Peculiar People to develop life skills in teenagers and pre-teens. He is
the author of Lessons from the Life of a Baldheaded Blind Clown, a contemporary
look at the life of the biblical strongman Samson.
Fubara lives in Buies Creek with his wife LaVerne and
sons Abiyè, Priyè and Adonyè.
