Interested in government
contracting? Campbell to host workshop on how to get started
Each
year, the government spends billions of dollars in goods and services purchases
from private businesses. Campbell University will host a free workshop
explaining how local businesses can take advantage of this economic opportunity
by becoming registered to receive government contracts. The Central Contractor
Registration Workshop, presented by the North Carolina Procurement Technical
Assistance Center (PTAC) and sponsored by the Small Business and Technology
Development Center (SBTDC), will be held at Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman
School of Business on Thursday, June 30, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the
Academic Computer Center, Room 113.
The workshop provides hands-on assistance in helping
interested vendors register in Central Contractor Registration, the Small
Business Administration and N.C. Vendor-Link online. PTAC and SBTDC counselors
will guide those who attend through the registration process.
“This is a golden opportunity for greater Harnett County,”
said Dr. Shahriar Mostashari, associate dean of the Lundy-Fetterman School of
Business. “The beauty of it is that by the end of the workshop, businesses will
have a registration number with which to bid on federal, state and local
government contracts.”
To register for the free workshop, call the SBTDC office at 910-672-1727 or
e-mail: jroos@sbtbc.org.
