Caldwell Kicks off Lecture Series at Campbell
Dr. Bruce Caldwell,
author of “Hayek’s Challenge,” a biography of one of the most
influential economists of the 20th Century, will be the featured
speaker at Campbell University’s first FREE Forum lecture, Thursday,
September 9, at 5 p.m. in Lynch Auditorium of the Lundy-Fetterman
School of Business. The FREE Forum Lecture series will focus on the
relevance of Hayek’s book, “The Road to Serfdom,” in today’s
political and economic environment.
A recognized authority
on the history of economic thought and the life and work of F.A.
Hayek, Caldwell is the Rosenthal Excellence Professor of Economics
at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is president
of the History of Economics Society and serves on editorial boards
of several economic journals. Caldwell also served as general editor
of the book “The Collected Works of F.A. Hayek.” His biography of
Hayek, “Hayek’s Challenge,” is published by the University of
Chicago Press.
The FREE (Foundations
of Rational Economic Education) Forum lecture series is funded
through contributions from The Adam Smith Club, a student
organization that promotes the principles of individual liberty and
personal responsibility, free enterprise and minimal government. For
