Kenneth Jones |
Kenneth Jones, of Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman
School of Business, has received the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching
Award. Jones is director of Campbell’s Professional Golf Management
Program (PGM) and assistant professor of business.
A native of Gouveneur, NY, Jones is a former head
professional at Sea Trail Resort & Golf Links in Sunset Beach, NC. He
received a Bachelor of Science in marketing and professional golf
management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, and a Master
of Business Administration with a concentration in management from
Campbell University. He joined the Campbell business faculty in 1998 as
director of placement for the PGM program.
In addition to his responsibilities as director of the
PGM program, Jones serves as the advisor to the Professional Golf
Management Student Association. He is also the creator of the PGM
Lecture Series at Campbell, a program that brings prominent figures in
the golf industry to speak to PGM students.
Jones has been instrumental in the expansion of the PGM
program at Campbell, which has grown from fewer than 70 students in 1998
to over 150 students today. He also led the program through the
accreditation process with the Professional Golf Association of America
and coordinates two golf tournament fundraisers, one for the School of
Business and the other for the Student Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Developed from Campbell’s first Department of Business,
established in 1893, the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business was formally
established in 1983. It offers undergraduate degrees in business
administration, accounting, trust management, computer information
systems, economics, international business, and golf management, as well
as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Trust and
Investment Management. The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business is one of
only 11 schools in the nation to have a golf management program approved
by the PGA and the only school in the nation to offer Trust and
Investment Management degree programs.
