Thomas elected to Presidential Board of Advisors
Mildred Davis Thomas, of Aberdeen, N.C., has been elected to Campbell
University’s Presidential Board of Advisors. Thomas is the wife of the late
Edgar A Thomas, a member of Campbell’s Board of Trustees from 1969 until his
death in 2005. Before his retirement, Edgar Thomas was the vice president of one
of the world’s leading textile manufacturers, Frank Ix and Sons, Inc. Mrs.
Thomas also served as an officer in the corporation.
Thomas attends First Baptist Church of Lexington, N.C., where
she is a Sunday school teacher and a training union leader. She also serves as a
Women’s Mission Union leader and a member of the choir.
She has been a Girl Scout leader as well as a 4-H
leader and is a member of the Garden Club. Thomas has also served on the city’s
Recreation Commission
She has three children, each of whom is a Campbell
graduate: Ann Thomas Cole, of Welcome, N.C.; Martha Thomas Wetmore, of Boone,
N.C.; and Edgar Thomas Jr., of Lexington, N.C.
