Lundy-Fetterman Museum presents new exhibit
Capturing the colorful splendor of the ocean, the Lundy-Fetterman Museum and
Exhibit Hall is proud to present a new collection of over 250 seashells and
small marine life.
The shells were a gift to the University from
Mr. and Mrs. W. Carroll Bryan
and are displayed in beautiful glass cases.
The museum boasts a collection of 175 exhibits of
animal and marine wildlife. Highlights of the exhibit include a polar bear and
mountain goat from Alaska, sheep and goitered gazelle from Iran, and a leopard,
zebra, elephant, reedbuck, lion, gnu and rhinoceros from Africa. The museum has
now expanded to include the Campbell Heritage Room, which showcases a collection
representing the history of Campbell University, and has begun a compilation of
all Campbell yearbooks dating from the University’s founding.
The museum staff invites all to visit the museum in
order to help reach its goal of 10,000 visitors by the end of spring semester
2006 and also encourages a visit to the gift shop, which offers a full supply of
sweat shirts and t-shirts designed specifically for the museum. The museum and
exhibit hall is open Mondays, from 10 a.m.-1p.m; and Tuesdays, from 1p.m.-4p.m.
Appointments may be made by calling (910) 814-4398.
