Cava elected board president
The Reverend Ronald S. Cava, of Clinton, N.C., has been
elected president of the Campbell University Board of Ministers. The board is an
advisory and participatory group which provides insight and assistance in the
fulfillment of the university’s mission to provide Christian higher education to
worthy students.
Cava has served as senior minister at Clinton First
Baptist Church since June 2002. He is a former pastor of the Rocky Hock Baptist
Church in Edenton, N.C., and of Warlick’s Baptist Church in Connelly Springs,
N.C. Cava graduated from Campbell University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in
religion. He continued his education at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary, where he graduated in 1990 with a Master of Divinity. As a student at
Campbell and Southeastern, Cava also served as associate pastor or pastor of
churches in Wilmington, Sims and Durham.
In addition to his full-time pastorate, Cava is active
in the Eastern Baptist Association, Mainstream Baptist of North Carolina and
various other Baptist organizations.
He is married to the former Shirley Ann Beggs of
Yorktown, Va., who will graduate from Campbell’s School of Education in May.
They are the parents of four children.
