Two Concerts Make Music at Campbell
Campbell University is excited to present two upcoming
concerts showcasing the talents of the Wind, Percussion and Saxophone ensembles.
On April 12, the Wind Ensemble will present its fourth
annual pop concert, “An Evening at the Movies.” The concert is scheduled for
8p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Rogers Fine Arts Center. It will feature
selections from such popular movies as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Star Trek,”
“The Lord of the Rings,” “The Lion King,” “Mission Impossible,” and “Indiana
Jones,” not to mention many Disney classics. The Wind Ensemble will also sell
movie popcorn, candy, and drinks for the audience to enjoy during the concert.
On April 14, Campbell will present the Chamber Winds
Concert, featuring the Percussion and Saxophone ensembles. The concert is
scheduled for 8p.m. in Scott Concert Hall. The groups will perform such works as
“Prelude in E Minor,” “Double Dribble,” “Fortress of the Prince,” and “Don’t be
Blue Mon.” The Percussion Ensemble is directed by Dr. Dwayne Wilson, director of
bands and Instrumental Studies at Campbell University. This concert will also
feature guest conductors Amber Johnson and Jon Button.
