Campus Ministries on a Mission
During Spring Break at Campbell University,
campus ministries the Baptist Student Union and Campus Crusade will venture out
onto the missions field. The Baptist Student Union is traveling the greatest
distance to the island of Belize in Central America. Closer to home, Campus
Crusade for Christ will be taking a group of students to Panama City, FL, for
“Big Break.”
“Big Break” at Panama City Beach, hails Campus Crusade organizations from
colleges nationwide. It is a conference aimed at evangelism training and
fellowship, providing a fun and exciting opportunity to meet with crusaders on a
national level. Moreover, a vital aspect of this trip is ministering to people
through relationships. Students will take what they know and believe to the
Panama City beach, using the opportunities given them to spread the good news.
There are currently 25 students going on the trip, lasting from March 4-12.
Flying across the Atlantic Ocean, 13 students from Baptist Student Union will be
traveling to the tropical island of Belize. While there, students will aid in
teaching a Vacation Bible School for children. They will also be doing
construction work and street ministry. Kira Hamilton, of Boiling Springs, NC,
says, “I’m really excited about the opportunity to go to Belize. I’m looking
forward to seeing what God can do through us there.”
Missions are an important aspect of Campbell ministries. Currently, the Divinity
School is planning a trip to South East Asia for the summer, to aid in the
tsunami relief effort. Campbell University strongly supports campus ministries;
they lend a hand to the community, the state, and the world.
