Chamber Winds to Perform at Campbell
The Chamber Winds, a select group of students
from Campbell University’s Wind Ensemble, will perform in concert, Tuesday,
February 22, at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Rogers Fine Arts Center.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Featured in the performance are several faculty soloists and two graduating
music education students who are currently student teaching. Melody Causby, who
is completing a teaching practicum at Middle Creek High School in Cary, NC, will
play the French horn solos for “Concerto for Horn and Band” and Jon Button, who
is at Cary High School, will play the xylophone for “Serenade for a Picket
Fence.”
Also featured in the performance are faculty members Catherine LeGrand, who will
play the flute for “Concertino for Flute,” and Jeremiah Miller, who will play
the alto saxophone in “Harlequinade.”
In addition, Dr. Richard McKee, associate professor of music, jazz instructor
Donald Martin, and brass instructor Dennis DeJong will perform with the Chamber
Winds. McKee will play piano for “Introduction and Capriccio,” Martin will play
the clarinet for “Concertino for Clarinet,” and DeJong will play the trumpet for
“Hydra Concerto.”
