Campbell Museum Presents Program on Great White
Shark
Author and lecturer John Hairr will present a
program on one of the most amazing predators of the deep, the great white shark,
Sunday, February 20, at 2: 30 p.m. in the Lundy-Fetterman Museum and Exhibit
Hall on the Campbell campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
Hairr, of Lillington, NC, is the author of at least 10 books on southern
history, including “Florida Lighthouses,” published by Arcadia Publishing, and
has received numerous awards for his historical work.
“John Hairr is a great example of what a person can do who has an interest in
history, English, and communications,” said Museum Director Dorothea Stewart
Gilbert. “His books and videos on natural and historical subjects are a great
source of interest to everyone.”
Great white sharks, which can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds, have been spotted
at the mouth of the Cape Fear River in Wilmington and off the coasts of North
and South Carolina.
The Lundy-Fetterman Museum and Exhibit Hall is located in the Lundy-Fetterman
School of Business, Room 133. The museum is open Mondays, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.;
