School of Law Leads Bar Exam
Scores Once Again
Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School
of Law once again led the state in percentage passing of the bar
exam, according to the Board of Law Examiners of the State of North
Carolina. In the February 2004 results recently released, the
Wiggins School of Law percentage passing rate was 15 percent higher
than the second place University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
School of Law. Campbell’s percentage passage rate exceeded the total
passage rate of all exam takers by 21 percent.
Total applicants taking the exam in the state
numbered 375 with 189 passing for a total passage rate of 50
percent. Of that total, Campbell students numbered 14, with 10
passing.
Since its inception, the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of
Law has consistently led the way in passing the North Carolina Bar
including a 100 percent passage rate in 1994, the first time all members
of a graduating class accomplished that feat in North Carolina history.
Founded in 1976, the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law
has an enrollment of over 300 students and enjoys a heritage derived
from three distinct traditions—the noble tradition of the legal
profession, the Christian tradition, and the finer traditions of the
rural South, such as friendliness and self-reliance. It strives to
educate lawyers who are prepared to serve their communities with legal
skills and ethical and intellectual leadership.
Founded in 1887, Campbell University is North Carolina’s
second largest private institution of higher education and the second
largest Baptist university in the world. Located in Buies Creek, NC,
just east of the center of the state, Campbell University combines
academic excellence and Christian commitment.
