Johnson Elected to Board of Ministers
The Rev. Harvey Michael Johnson, of Rowland, NC, was
recently elected to the Campbell University Board of Ministers. The
Board of Ministers is an advisory and participatory group that
provides insight and assistance in the fulfillment of the
University's mission to provide Christian higher education to worthy
young men and women.
Currently, Johnson serves as pastor of Rowland First
Baptist Church in Rowland, NC. A native of Lake View, SC, he
attended Campbell, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in
1970. Johnson completed a Master of Divinity degree at The Southern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, in 1973. Johnson has
recently served on the General Board and the Council on Christian
Education for the Baptist State Convention. He has also served on
the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Coordinating Council.
Johnson is married to the former Brenda Jowers, of
Hinesville, GA. They have two children, Michele and Brian.
Founded in 1887, Campbell University is North Carolina's
second largest private institution of higher education and the second
largest Baptist university in the world. Located in Buies Creek, NC,
just east of the center of the state, Campbell combines academic
excellence and Christian commitment.
