The Campbell University
Department of Theatre Arts will present Smoke on the Mountain, an
evening of Gospel music and witness featuring the Sanders Family
Singers, on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, and Thursday through
Saturday, April 22-24, at 8 p.m. Performances will be held in
Ellis Theatre of the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center. Tickets are
$6.50 for general admission; and $3.50 for senior citizens, Campbell
University students, faculty, and staff.
As the country begins to
work its way out of the Great Depression, the Sanders family arrives at
a Saturday Night Sing at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church to provide a night
of good music and heart-felt testimony. The show features such gospel
favorites as "Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now," "I'll Fly
Away," and "I'm Using My Bible for a Roadmap," among many others.
"This show is a lot of fun
and fit for the whole family. If you like to laugh and listen to live,
old-time Southern Gospel, Smoke on the Mountain will satisfy,"
says director E. Bert Wallace. "Ya'll come."
