Hunter Elected to Board of Ministers

The Rev. Phillip LeMont Hunter, of Goldsboro, NC,
was recently elected to the Campbell University Board of Ministers.
The Board of Ministers is an advisory and participatory group that
provides insight and assistance in the fulfillment of the
University's mission to provide Christian higher education to worthy
young men and women.
Currently, Hunter serves as pastor of Madison Avenue
Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC. A native of Monroe, NC, he attended
Wingate Baptist College, obtaining an Associate of Arts and a
Bachelor of Arts in human services in 1979 and 1980, respectively.
Hunter earned a Master of Divinity in pastoral ministry from
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, in
1983, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian spirituality from
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2000.
Hunter currently serves as a member of the Neuse
Baptist Association Committee on Ordination. He also serves as a
United States Army Reserves chaplain, assigned as the 108th Division
(IT) Assistant Division Chaplain. Hunter is married to the former
Brenda Kay Surratt of Monroe, NC. They have two children-Monica and
Jeff.
