Christian Elected to Board of Ministers
The Rev. Donald Joseph Christian, of Richlands, NC,
was recently elected to the Campbell University Board of Ministers.
The Board of Ministers is an advisory and participatory group that
provides insight and assistance in the fulfillment of the
University's mission to provide Christian higher education to worthy
young men and women.
Currently,
Christian serves as pastor of First Baptist Church in Richlands, NC.
A native of Durham, NC, he attended East Carolina University, obtaining
a bachelor's degree in history in 1976. Christian earned a Master
of Divinity degree in Old Testament at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Wake Forest, NC in 1980 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in
leadership development and evangelism in 1988. Christian has
previously served as pastor at churches in Spindale, NC; Danville, VA;
Chapel Hill, NC; Ahoskie, NC; and Durham, NC. He has also served
on the Volunteer Chaplaincy Advisory Board and Cancer Education and
Support Committee at the Rutherford Hospital.
Christian is married to the former Brenda Dean, of
Durham, NC. They have two children-Brandon and Brad.
Founded in 1887, Campbell University is North Carolina's
second largest private institution of higher education and the second
largest Baptist university in the world. Located in Buies Creek, NC,
just east of the center of the state, Campbell combines academic
excellence and Christian commitment.
