Dr. Valerie Britt Clinard, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, has
been appointed director of Experiential Programs and assistant
professor of pharmacy at Campbell University’s School of Pharmacy.
Prior to joining the Campbell faculty, Clinard was employed in the
medical information division at GlaxoSmithKline and also worked with
Kerr Drug Company in Raleigh, NC.
“Dr. Clinard is an excellent choice for this position,”
said Dr. Larry Swanson, chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
“She has held several positions which have given her the opportunity to
teach pharmacy students in the practice environment.”
The pharmacy school’s Experiential Program is the
component of the pharmacy curriculum that encompasses the early and
advanced practice experience. In this program, students are allowed to
apply the skills they have learned in a pharmacy setting.
Clinard received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a Community
Pharmacy residency at Campbell University.
A native of Garner, Clinard lives in Fuquay-Varina with
her husband, Kris.
The Campbell University School of Pharmacy was
established in 1986 as the first new school of pharmacy to open in the
United States in 35 years. In 1990, the charter class distinguished
itself with a 100 percent passage rate on state and national board
examinations. Subsequent classes have maintained a record of 99 percent
passage rate on the national board exam and 98 percent on state board
exams. The School is a member of the American Association of Colleges of
Pharmacy.
