Keith Receives Baptist Heritage Award
|

Tom Keith |
Tom J. Keith, president of the real estate appraisal
firm, Tom J. Keith & Associates in Fayetteville, NC, was one of 13
North Carolinians to receive the Baptist Heritage Award presented
recently by the North Carolina Baptist Foundation and the Council on
Christian Higher Education. The award is given to individuals whose
support of Christian agencies associated with the Baptist State
Convention of North Carolina has enriched the lives of North
Carolina Baptists.
The Baptist Heritage Award expands on an earlier
practice in which the North Carolina Baptist Development Officers’
Association honored one philanthropist and one fund-raiser annually.
Since 2001, the agencies and institutions within the Baptist State
Convention each nominate one person based on his or her personal and
financial contributions to that organization.
A 1964 graduate of Campbell University’s School of
Business, Keith served as president of the North Carolina Appraisers
Foundation and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, chairman of the
North Carolina Real Estate Appraisal Board, and director of the North
Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry. He has also served as an
adjunct professor of real estate appraisal at Fayetteville Technical
Community College.
Keith is a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church,
where he has served two terms as a deacon. In addition, he serves on the
board of trustees of Campbell University. He and his wife, Anne, have
also established two academic scholarships at Campbell, and he is a
recipient of the university’s Alumni Service Award. He has been a
director of the Olde Fayetteville Association and the Cape Fear
Botanical Garden and member of the Cumberland County Shrine, the
Fayetteville Area Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, and the
Fayetteville Kiwanis Club.
The Keiths are the parents of three sons, Benjamin,
Jamie, and Alex.
