Woodwind and Guitar Ensembles to Perform at
Campbell
T he Campbell University Woodwind and Guitar
Ensembles will present a spring concert at Campbell University on
Tuesday, April 13, at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Taylor
Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the
public.
The flute choir's performance will include Ragtime
Dance by Scott Joplin. Senior soloists include Cheryl Storer,
piccolo, from Cameron, NC; and Jane Smith, flute, from Seminole, FL.
The woodwind trio and saxophone quartet will perform chamber
music featuring every member of both groups. The woodwind trio consists of
senior Jane Smith, flute, from Seminole, FL; and sophomores Jennifer Ashley,
flute, from Richmond, VA; and Danielle Hicks, clarinet, from Asheville, NC.
The saxophone quartet will perform New York Suite by Paquito
D'Rivera. The members of the quartet are sophomores Eric Keel, soprano
saxophone, from Williamston, NC; Meagan Wright, alto saxophone, from Catawba,
NC; Aaron Carter, tenor saxophone, from Clinton, NC; and Samuel Varnam,
baritone saxophone, from Southport, NC.
The program for the guitar ensemble will include Yesterday and
Julia by the Beatles and Twin by Billy Stewart. Senior Matt Stanaker, from
Raleigh, NC, and sophomore John Porter, from Henderson, NC, will perform a
guitar duet.
