Melton Elected to Board of Trustees

Jimmy D. Melton, of Aberdeen, NC, was recently
elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Melton, the
owner of Sandhills Cycle and Sandhills Harley-Davidson, is also a
real estate broker, building contractor, and auctioneer.
Active in civic organizations, Melton is chairman of the Moore
County Planning Board and served as finance chair of the Sandhills Baptist
Association. He is also a Gideon and has served as a state zone leader for the
organization. He is a member of the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce and a
former member of the Jaycees. Melton also serves as chairman of deacons for
the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.
A graduate of West End High School, Melton completed
continuing education courses at Fayetteville State University and Central
Carolina, Sandhills, and Richmond County community colleges. He completed his
auctioneer training at Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, NC.
He is married to the former Dorothy Furr. They have two
children, Jimmy D. Melton II and Cindy Floyd. They also have two
grandchildren.
