Cato Elected to Board of Trustees

Charles D. Cato, of Durham, NC, was recently elected
to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Cato, who retired from
Eli Lilly & Company after serving 27 years as a sales
representative, is also a pharmacist who continues to work
part-time.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Cato received a
Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy in 1959. He served on the Board of
Directors for the annual Duke Children’s Classic, a major fundraiser sponsored
by Duke Children’s Hospital. He has also served on Campbell’s Presidential
Board of Advisors.
He is a member of Yates Baptist Church in Durham, where he
currently serves as a Sunday school teacher. Cato has also served on the Board
of Deacons and on numerous church committees.
He is married to the former Faye Poole. They are the parents
of two children, Michael Cato and Paula Cato Radford, a Campbell graduate.
They have four grandchildren.
