Durmire Elected to the Presidential Board of
Advisors

Jerry Lee Durmire, of Hiddenite, NC, was recently
elected to Campbell University's Presidential Board of Advisors.
Durmire is a retired U.S. Postal worker and hydro plant operator. He
currently serves as president of the EnergyUnited Water Corporation
Board of Directors.
Active in community affairs, Durmire served as a
volunteer fireman for 20 years and was named Alexander County
Citizen of the Year in 2001. He is a member of Sulphur Springs
Baptist Church, where he serves on the Deacon Committee and the
Board of Trustees. Durmire has also served as church treasurer and
member of several committees. A graduate of Hiddenite High School,
Durmire worked for the U.S Postal Service as a rural mail carrier
from 1973-2002. He also worked for Duke Power Company as a hydro
plant operator from 1969-1996.
He is married to the former Glenda Kay Johnson of
Hiddenite, NC. They are the parents of two children, both of whom
are deceased.
Founded in 1887, Campbell University is North
Carolina's second largest private institution of higher education
and the second largest Baptist university in the world. Located in
Buies Creek, NC, just east of the center of the state, Campbell
