University Choir to Perform at Campbell
The Campbell University Choir will present a concert
at Campbell University on Thursday, April 1 at 8 p.m. in Scott
Concert Hall of the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center. Admission
is free and open to the public.
The program for the evening will feature works by
Richard Farrant, Johann Hummel, and K. Lee Scott, as well as
arrangements by Z. Randall Stroope and Moses Hogan. The University
Choir plans to present this program on an international tour this
May, with performances scheduled in Wales and England. Dr. Philip
Morrow, choral director, structured the program with several English
anthems because of the upcoming tour. Seniors Huntre Basnight, of
Fayetteville, NC, and Jaime Sellers, of Whiteville, NC, will be
featured as student conductors in the program.
The University Choir is one of three performing
vocal ensembles in the department of music at Campbell University.
The group performs several concerts, both on and off campus, each
semester. The choir has 45 members, many of them pursuing a major or
minor in music. For more information, call the Campbell University
Division of Fine Arts at (910) 893-1495.
