Byrd Elected to Presidential Board of Advisors
Martin Davis Byrd, of Dunn, NC, was recently elected
to the Campbell University Presidential Board of Advisors. Byrd is a
retired airline pilot.
A Campbell graduate, Byrd received an Associate of Arts degree
in 1953. He also attended grammar school and high school at Campbell.
He is a member of Erwin Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist
Church, where he has served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and member of
the Building Committee. Byrd currently serves as a trustee of the church.
He is married to the former Edna Mae Royals. They have two
children, Karen Byrd, a Campbell graduate, and Cheryl Byrd Coats, who also
attended Campbell.
In his spare time, Byrd enjoys flying and rebuilding aircraft
engines, old farm equipment, and antique radios.
