Wood elected to Campbell University Board of Trustees

Luby Wood, of Raleigh, N.C., has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. A retired businessman, Wood was president and co-owner of seven Super Clean Car Wash operations in Gaston and Cleveland counties and a veteran of 30 years with Lowe’s Home Improvement. Wood retired from Lowe’s in 1988.
An advocate for Christian higher education, Wood and his wife Catherine established a Divinity School scholarship in 1999. He has served previous terms on Campbell boards and was a member of the Executive and Investments Committee of the Board of Trustees.
He is active in his church, Trinity Baptist of Raleigh, N.C., where he serves on the Foundation Fund and Finance committees. Wood’s Christian stewardship built the Banner Chapel Advent Christian Ministries Center in Benson, dedicated to his mother Hettie Belle Adams Wood.
For his contributions to Campbell University and to his community, Wood received the Presidential Medallion in 1999, given to those individuals whose lives exemplify Christian character and commitment.
The Woods are the parents of two children, Wendy Wood, of Benson, N.C.; and Reid Wood, of Huntersville, N.C. They have two grandchildren.
