Joe Floyd elected to Campbell University Board of Trustees
Joe D. Floyd, Sr. has been elected to the Campbell
University Board of Trustees. Floyd is senior partner and president of the Joe
D. Floyd law firm in High Point, N.C.
A former high school coach and teacher, Floyd also
served in the U.S. Army and as a United States probation and parole officer. He
is a former law clerk to federal Judge Johnson J. Hayes.
Active in his profession, Floyd is a member of the
North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the
Federal Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the High
Point Bar Association (president 1984-85), among others. This is his fifth term
as a Campbell trustee.
He is a member of the Green Street Baptist Church of
High Point, where he is a deacon and former men’s Sunday school teacher. Floyd
was also actively involved with the Capital Stewardship Campaign, as well as the
Finance, Hospitality and Building committees.
He is married to the former Bonita Jeane Hayes of North
Wilkesboro, N.C. They are the parents of two children, Kimberly Hayes Floyd and
Joseph Donald Floyd II. Both are graduates of Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins
School of Law and partners in the Joe D. Floyd firm.
