Small elected to Campbell University Board of Trustees
Willard Small, of Fair Bluff, N.C., has been elected to
the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Small is president of Fair Bluff,
Lumberton and Mullins motors.
Active in civic life, he is a member of the Fair Bluff
Town Council and has served in that capacity longer than any other town
councilman in the history of the state.
He is a veteran of three terms as a Campbell trustee
and is a member of the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees in
Whiteville, N.C.
In addition to tenure on the Campbell and Southeastern
boards, Small has served on the Columbus County Economic Development Commission
and the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. He served as chairman of the Finance
Committee of the local 1995 Billy Graham Crusade and is a member of the Fair
Bluff Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and chairman of the Finance
Committee.
Small is the brother of the late Lonnie Small, who
served as vice president and treasurer of Campbell University for over 40 years.
In 2000, he was awarded Campbell’s prestigious Presidential Medallion for his
service to his community and to Christian higher education.
He is married to the former Ruth Cribbes. They are the
parents of two children, David Small and Jerri Vaughan, both Campbell alumni.
The Smalls have three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
