Campbell Law School ranks #1 for NC Bar passage rate

     Campbell University’s Norman A. Wiggins School of Law Class of 2006 scored a 97% passage rate on July’s North Carolina Bar Exam, topping all other law schools in the state.
     Of the 754 first time NC Bar Exam participants, 86 students were from Campbell.
     Many of those students were encouraged by the May Graduation remarks of outgoing Law School Dean Willis Whichard, who entreated graduates to sign a pledge to prepare intensely for the bar exam.
     “While your school has a reputation at stake in this, you have a greater one,” said Whichard. “One year, our passage rate was 100%. That is the goal that all of us who have taught you here have for you.”
     The new Dean of the law school, Melissa Essary, praises Campbell’s long history of achievement and vows to maintain its high standards of excellence.
     “This enormous success reflects years of hard work by our faculty and staff, a proven law school program, and of course, the efforts of our tremendously talented students,” said Essary. “We are so very proud of our graduates.”
    Of the other law schools in the state, Duke University scored a 92% passage rate, Wake Forest University 88%, UNC 87% and NCCU 86%.
