Coleman elected to Presidential Board of Advisors
Robert Edwin “Eddie” Coleman, Jr., of Raleigh, N.C., has been elected to the
Campbell University Presidential Board of Advisors. Coleman is president of The
Coleman Group, Inc., a diverse real estate holding company with interests in
multifaceted real estate activities including brokerage, development and
investment.
The Coleman Group has been involved in the acquisition,
redevelopment and management of unique historic apartments in Raleigh for over
10 years through its subsidiary, Coleman Properties, Inc. The company also
received a Sir Walter Raleigh Award from the Raleigh Appearance Commission for
one of its many redevelopment and restoration projects. In 2004, the Capital
Area Preservation organization honored The Coleman Group with its Anthemion
Award for restoration of the Pullen Starkes House in Raleigh’s historic Oakwood
neighborhood. Other projects developed by the company are Berkeley Plaza
Shopping Center in Goldsboro, Westgate Plaza Shopping Center in Kinston and the
Arbors of Beaucatcher, 12 luxury condominiums in Asheville.
Coleman is past president and director of the Triangle
Commercial Association of Realtors (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) and the
Wake County Apartment Association. In addition he served as chairman of the
Independent Rental Owners Council. He currently serves on the board of directors
of Capital Area Preservation.
A native of Lillington, N.C., Coleman graduated from
East Carolina University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business.
He and his wife Kay are members of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Their
children, Robert Edwin Coleman II and Sara McKay Coleman, attend East Carolina
University.
