Campbell University presents Wind Ensemble in
concert
The Campbell University
Wind Ensemble will perform in concert Tuesday, November 15, at 8 p.m., in Scott
Concert Hall of the Rogers Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the
public.
“People won’t want to miss this enchanted evening
performance by the Wind Ensemble,” said Dr. Dwayne Wilson, director of Bands and
Instrumental Studies. “The program features a range of styles from exciting and
rhythmically intense to quiet and reflective.”
Among the works that will be performed by the 70-member
ensemble are “With Each Sunset,” by Richard Saucedo; “Echoes,” by Samuel Hazo;
“Perilous Voyage,” by Cory McBride, a work based on the sea journey of Sir
Frances Drake in 1577; “Danse Bacchanale,” by Camille Saint-Saens; and “Albanian
Dance,” by Shelley Hanson.
“There is no particular theme to the concert,” Wilson
said, “Just memorable music and great entertainment.”
