Warren named Distinguished Alumnus of Campbell
University
Harold K. Warren of Fayetteville, N.C., has been named a Distinguished Alumnus
of Campbell University. Warren, a funeral director with Jernigan-Warren Funeral
Home, was presented the award at Campbell’s annual Homecoming event on Saturday,
Oct. 22.
A retired educator, Warren spent the major portion of
his 37-year career as principal of Pine Forest High School. As a testament to
his leadership, Pine Forest’s Harold K. Warren Stadium was named in his honor
and he was recognized by the Cumberland County Schools as Secondary Principal of
the Year.
Warren graduated from Campbell Junior College with an
Associate of Arts degree. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Wake
Forest College and a master’s in education administration from East Carolina
University. Warren also earned an Education Specialist degree from East
Carolina.
Active in civic organizations, Warren served as a
member of the Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center Board of
Trustees and is currently serving on Campbell University’s Presidential Board of
Advisors. He and his wife Ann have also endowed a Campbell scholarship, the
Harold K. and Ann T. Warren Education Scholarship.
The Warrens are the parents of two daughters, Martha
Warren Turvey of Chapel Hill, and Alyce Warren Finocchio of Wilmington.
